Do we blame it all on China?

China and the rate it consumes natural resources has been sending out alarm signals to ecology experts and environmentalists alike. Atmospheric damage, depletion of resources and excessive fuel and water consumption are some of the major set backs brought about by China’s trade from within and out.

Yes it’s easy to bring up those issues against China, considering the universal impact on our ecology. Factories work all day emitting tons of CO2 and all for the purpose of answering export demands. Accordingly, studies show that 14% of that carbon dioxide was used to process orders meant for US consumption. US may not have as much green house emissions in its atmosphere; this is partly because half of the work needed in the production of their commodities was done in China.

So the world urges China to wise up and conserve resources, if they do, will the countries who order certain commodities from China be not affected?

The baseline here is for universal awareness and not just simple finger-pointing as to who does the most damage. Our progress from civilization to modernization equated into more than just improving our way of life. Universally, the things that we employ in our offices and household come naturally to us as simple purchases from retail stores. It never crossed our minds that if we were to account the amount of natural resources, fuel and CO2 emission involved in the manufacture of items used per each household, we can also arrive at how much we are responsible in the depletion of natural resources on a worldwide scale.

Hence the call to be wiser in the use and conservation of natural resources should be directed not only at China but to every human being living comfortably in this planet.
